About the Speakers:
Niamh Sherwin Barry, Co-Founder, The Irish Fairy Door Company
Niamh is our Chief Story Teller. She is delighted to be able to tell the fairies’ story on a regular basis, letting people know all about our little visitors and helping us all understand them a little better! A very creative person with a passion for all things ‘crafty’, the fairies love her imagination and her love of children and really believe that she can truly help them spread the word.
Niamh, has been working with children since 2002. She is a qualified Montessori Teacher and has also ran her own business teaching music classes to under 5’s through a Jo Jingles franchise. Niamh has lots of experience working with young children and truly loves it! She happily admits to being a big kid herself which really helps in her line of work.
Sir Steven Wilkinson KCNG, founder and managing director, Good & Prosper
My name is Steven Wilkinson and I am an entrepreneur, investment specialist, writer and founder of Good & Prosper - Strategies for Prosperity. Good & Prosper is a fledgeling online education platform that supports, mentors and encourages people committed to their own entrepreneurial journey with advice, thinking and tools to help them craft and implement their own personal strategy for prosperity.
I work at the interface between finance, strategy and entrepreneurship and am a founding shareholder and Chairman of the publicly-listed investment company Solvesta AG, Europe's only public company specialised on acquiring and restructuring small and medium-sized businesses out of insolvency (www.solvesta.eu). I am a founding member of the Small Giants Community (www.smallgiants.org), a wonderful, UUS-based organisation, that caters to companies that choose to be great instead of big and provides resources to value-based leaders, as well as an active supporter and mentor within the Ashoka Social Entrepreneurship (http://ireland.ashoka.org) network, both here in Ireland and in Germany. I believe that business can and should be a force for good in our society and that the more people take entrepreneurial responsibility for their lives, the better our society will be.
I was born in Lancashire, UK in 1963 and moved to Munich, Germany at the age of 24, where I spent almost all of my career, before moving to Ireland with my family in early 2015. I have been married to Britta since 2000 and our family is comprised of four children, two dogs, two horses and a tortoise, all of whom live in Delgany. I am an avid long distance trail walker (see www.peregrinations.eu for my trail blogs), cross country skier and sailor, I read voraciously, write enthusiastically and drink large quantities of green tea every day.
