Eugene Forde of the Local Enterprise Office will offer members an insight into Government supports for SMEs.
Eugene lives in Naas and is married with two children.
Eugene has spent his career working within the Department of Jobs Enterprise and Innovation, and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, developing various aspects of economic policy.
He is currently Head of Indigenous Enterprise Development, working closely with Enterprise Ireland and the Local Enterprise Offices.
His ambition is to see more Irish people starting their own business and to see more Irish businesses exporting globally. Currently, the biggest challenge to Irish companies is Brexit.
Eugene is a Member of Enterprise Ireland’s Investment Committee.
Eugene has worked in Geneva and Brussels, representing Ireland’s interests at the World Trade Organisation and on EU-US economic relations.
More recently, he served as Economic Counsellor at the Embassy of Ireland in London, promoting Ireland-UK economic relations in the period following the financial crash in 2008.
In other phases of his career, Eugene has been instrumental in devising Ireland’s research and innovation policy, as well as in trade policy, employment policy and reform of company law.
This event is hosted by Network Ireland Kildare Branch in association with our supporters, Kildare Local Enterprise Office, AIB Bank and our media partners, Kildare Post.
