A Super Year for Network Ireland Mayo – memberships triple under the guidance of President, Anne Conlon
On Thursday evening, the 6th December, Network Ireland Mayo held their AGM in Breaffy House Resort, which was followed by a drinks reception and dinner in the beautiful Mulberry restaurant.
2018 President Anne Conlon chaired the AGM gave a report on the year’s events and treasurer report in the absent of the treasurer on the night. Before stepping down as President Anne said “It’s been a incredible year and a honour to be your President. It’s been a very busy year however exciting and extremely rewarding to see the growth of our members within the year. Before I hand over the chain of office I would like to thank the 2018 committee for all their work and support throughout the year. This is a volunteer committee where everyone gives up of their time freely and I enjoyed spending every minute working with you all. I would also like to thank our sponsors locally LEO Office and our National Sponsors AIB for backing the network over the years.”
Brenda Clarke of Breaffy House Resort and Acting Vice President commended Anne for an extraordinary year which seen membership triple, the number of events doubling, and a remarkable conference in Mount Falcon in May under Anne’s leadership.
“While Anne’s business is All About Sales, Anne is really ‘all about people’ and this is evident with the growth of the membership and attendances at the events. Working with Anne has been a pleasure and her passion for the network has been inspiring”. Brenda went on to nominate Anne as 2019 President that was unanimously voted by the members, which she accepted.
Anne is the founder of All About Sales, which delivers sales training and mentoring for retailers, the hospitality sector, field sales teams and company owners. With vast experience in the wholesale, B2B and media sectors Anne delivers trailer made training to address sales gaps within companies. She also delivers training in people development as confidence buildings, motivation and time management.
Due to the growth of the network Anne proposed extending the committee, which was voted in as: Brenda Clarke (Vice President), Irene Cafferkey (Treasurer), Edel Kenny (Secretary), Tara O’Brien (Marketing Coordinator), Louise McDonnell & Vicki McGowan (Social Media Officers), Roz Tunney-Ware (Membership Coordinator) Pamela Barrett (Membership Officer) and Ambassadors – Ciara Heneghan, Louise Buckley, Lorraine Hall, Deirdre Fahey, Caroline Kirrane and Olivia Jennings.
Network Ireland Mayo introduced in 2018 the event “Meet the Members” which are member only events that gives the members an opportunity to meet each other and get to know each. Anne believes ‘women get to know each other first, then trust each other and go on to do business”. These events have increased the members’ knowledge of each other’s business and the start of many friendships
Network Ireland Mayo’s highlight was the first conference and Business Awards held in Mount Falcon Estate. The speakers were Channel, Lady McCoy, Angelina Nugent, Antoinette Cunningham and Catherine Noone. The atmosphere is the room was incredible if you were not there you really missed something special.
Network Ireland conference was held in Galway this year where 4 of our members where finalist: Mary Corrigan, (Noo Chocolates), Breda Butler (Cuinneog), Toni Bourke (Irish Water) and Louise McDonnell (LouiseMcDonnell.com) in the businesswoman awards and Louise McDonnell won the Highly Recommended award for her business in the Best Use of Digital category.
